Preserving and protecting valuable areas and agricultural lands of Florida Parishes for current and future generations.

Land Trust for Southeast Louisiana (LTSL) is not just about respecting the land, but respecting the people who help to make the land so special.  Being a locally based organization, LTSL has a definite niche to fill.  The larger national organizations cannot always capitalize on the smaller land preservation opportunities.  And because of its grassroots origins, LTSL is able to do outreach and education so that the community can become aware of the options for land preservation.

Why Protect Land?

Faced with intensifying development pressures, the Florida Parishes region is rapidly losing its natural and agricultural assets.  The opportunity to save what makes the Florida Parishes so unique is swiftly disappearing.

As stewards of these treasured resources, landowners can serve an important role.  We must act today to forever preserve our natural agricultural heritage for ourselves and our children.

How Can Land Be Protected?

As a non-profit organization, the Land Trust for Southeast Louisiana (LTSL) works with individual landowners to protect natural assets on their property. LTSL accomplishes this through land donations, conservation easements, and purchases.
